MUG SHOT: C.J. CARPENTER

C.J. Carpenter was born and grew up in Upstate New York. She worked in advertising and television production before she decided to embark on a writing career. About her first novel, Never Alone, Kirkus Reviews wrote: “A promising debut for fans of the procedural thriller. Jeff Markowitz is the author of the Cassie O’Malley Mysteries, an amateur sleuth mystery series set deep in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. He loves to write early in the morning. You can usually find him at his computer at 5:30 in the morning plotting someone’s murder. When he’s not out looking for dead bodies, Markowitz keeps busy as the founder and Executive Director of a network of programs and services for adults with autism. He recently joined the board of directors of the New York chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. His new book, Death and White Diamonds, is out now.

Rob Hart is the associate publisher of MysteriousPress.com and the class director at LitReactor. Matt Cook is the author of Sabotage, which he wrote at 19 while an undergraduate at Stanford. There he also published two nonfiction books and cofounded a nonprofit dedicated to government transparency. A professional close-up magician trained at the Hollywood Magic Castle, he has performed in over 80 countries, and enjoys weaving exotic locales into his stories. Cook is now a doctoral student in Economics at Penn. He enjoys travel, scuba, and Latin dancing for fun.
