Taken in by their aunt and uncle, they adjust to their new lives as best they can. While growing up, George notices differences in his younger brother that lay dormant until his murder one cold and snowy evening, outside a speakeasy. Soon afterward, George’s aunt and uncle discover the body of another young man, brutally stabbed to death. And yet another vicious killing occurs during a holiday dinner at a city club, in front of a dining room full of people, including George and his family. Sloane Sheppard, a private investigator, attempts to find the solution to the murder of Thomas Latimer. It is not until long-held family secrets and blackmail attempts are revealed that Sloane, after meeting people connected with the victims, finally solves the mysteries behind these grizzly attacks as well as the mystery of Thomas Latimer.
